Alexa Collette (she/her) is in her second year of the Intermediate/Senior division of the Master of Teaching program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto. Her Bachelor of Arts Honors is from the University of Guelph, with majors in Studio Art and Psychology. In her art practice, she works primarily in drawing, painting, and textiles. Working through her own experiences, she explores the capacity for creating human connection and empathy within her work.
Alexa currently works as an Art Educator at the Elora Centre for the Arts, and a bookmaker at PS Guelph. She co-founded Outlet in the summer of 2020 with Maeve Hind. Since then, she has engaged community members in facilitated art experiences.
